The final battle for the 2022 Longines EEF Series grand finale

The most important stage of the Longines EEF Series 2022 competition is now underway. A week ago, we learned the first finalists in Deauville, France. This Saturday Budapest will host the second of the semifinals, in which another five teams will earn the place at the grand finale of the 2022 EEF Jumping Series. It is scheduled to take place in Warsaw during the 2022 Warsaw Jumping CSIO 4* competition (September 8-11).

Teams from Austria, Greece, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary and Italy have announced their participation in the semi-final competition in Budapest – LONGINES EEF Series Semi Final. The teams of Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Greece gathered the most points in the qualifying competitions before the semifinals. The competition is to begin on Saturday, July 2, at 1:30 pm

There is a total of 68 riders representing 14 countries in the CSIO3*-W competition and the list includes many titled riders. The capital of Hungary will host an absolute star of the world’s show jumping, current team Vice-Champion of Europe David Will (GER), five-time participant in the European Championships Gerfried Puck (AUT), a leading Italian show jumping athlete and regular participant at competitions in Poland, former Vice-Champion of Europe – Piergorgio Bucci (ITA), participant of the Olympic Games, World Championships and European Championships – Wout-Jan van der Schans (NED), second in the 2017 Omaha World Cup Final Romain Duguet (SUI), Balkan Champion Angelos Touloupis (GRE) and representative of the host country, World Cup finalist Gabor Szabo Jr.

There is a lot at stake. The Nations Cup best five will qualify for the grand finale of the 2022 EEF Series, where the winning team will earn a pass to the World Cup Division I.

After the CSIO3* competition held in Deauville last week, we already know that Belgium, Spain, Ireland, Portugal and Sweden will compete for victory in the grand finale in Warsaw (September 8-11, Warsaw Jumping CSIO4*).
