The Swiss Jufer comes winning at PKO Bank Polski competition

24 July 2021

Alan Jufer from Switzerland with Dante MM claimed victory at the 150 cm world-ranking qualifier with a jump-off for the PKO Bank Polski award.

The starting list comprised 39 pairs, out of which only five managed to secure a place in the jump-off. Jufer delivered a double clear, clocking 39,02 seconds.

As he put it, the joy of victory mingled bitterly with personal issues.

‘I lost my mother this Wednesday, so even though it feels like the gold is for her and for my team, it is been a hard thing to stay focused during the round and keep up a smile right afterwards.’ – he said, hinting at the Swiss team expecting again a bit more from the Sunday’s Nations Cup.

Piergiorgio Bucci with the mare Naiade d’Elsendam Z finished second in the time of 40,37 seconds. The Danish rider Lars Bak Andersen with Bartholomaues secured the third position – stopping the clock at 43.92.

The Poles’ performance was unquestionably uplifting. Wojciech Wojcaniec’s withstood the pressure in the best manner – assuring the fourth position with his daring ride ending up in one fault. Dawid Kubiak with Szuler finished fifth. The strikingly dynamic strides got interrupted with a refusal at the PKN Orlen obstacle – as a possible consequence of tightening the curve a second or two before.
