Poles to collect more medals at Young Horses finals

24 July 2021
More medals for Polish show jumpers at Warsaw Jumping CSIO 4* Longines EEF Series! Antoni Strzałkowski securing his victory with Jaminka P at the CSIYH (3YH) 135/140 cm Saturday competition with a jump-off for the prize of Krajowa Spółka Cukrowa and Mściwoj Kiecoń with Cleany vd Kattenvennen Z finishing second.

Twelve out of 28 competitors delivered a clear within the allotted time. The jump-ff concluded Antoni Strzałkowski clocking 33.91 seconds, posting another clear this morning.

‘This victory is of particular joy to me. If we keep working that way, we can soon count for more. – said the rider. Just to mention, he and Jaminka also won another young horse competition at CSI Biscupiec two weekends back.

In his view, the course this morning proved to be a challenge, which – surprisingly, as he finds it – quite many have managed to jump cleanly.

For Mściwoj Kiecoń with the 7 year-old mare Cleany vd Kattevennen Z, the jump-off performance stopped the clock in 34.31 seconds.

‘No time for spare calculations in the jump-off, bearing the number of competitors in mind. I rode as fas as I could. I have restrained her a bit while approaching the triple, so as to get the pace even – which probably was the moment that I lost 0.4 seconds to the winner.’ – concluded the 34 year-old Kiecoń.

The third place was taken by the German Gerrit Nieberg with the Hanoverian Cwept, clocking 36.10 seconds. This way he secured his third bronze at Warsaw Jumping – Friday morning brought him one with the same horse at CSIYH (2YH) for the prize of CASE IH, Friday afternoon resulted in him and the Westfalian Ben finishing third at the PKN Orlen Grand Prix competition.
