Schmitz triumphant in Grand Prix qualification
A rider from Switzerland, Edouard Schmitz comes out as a hero of the day! Following his morning victory in young horses, this afternoon saw him top the ranks again – in the Grand Prix qualification for the prize of the National Support Centre for Agriculture. This time he has chosen Quno to be his company.
The 150 cm against-the-clock round saw 45 couples on the list, and the 21-year old Swiss completed a clear one in as fast as 67,88.
‘A wonderful day, and a motivation kick to storm through the competitions to come that well, if not better. No way I am gonna share my strategies with anyone!’ – he adds with a grin.
Wojciech Wojcianiec – the reigning champion of Poland – came second on a 12-year-old stallion Naccord Melloni. No penalties, finishing at 68,40.
The third place was taken by an Italian – Piergiorgio Bucci on a 12-year-old Cochello. Time: 68,60.
