Mark Edwards wins the first ranked competition

6 September 2024

Mark Edwards of Great Britain took the victory at the CSIO4* for the prize of Polski Związek Jeździecki, under the patronage of Onet Przegląd Sportowy – the competition to crown day one at Warsaw Jumping 2024

The rivalry towards the Friday’s Lotto Grand Prix saw 55 competitors entering. The course comprising 12 obstacles, reaching 150 cm did not turn out to be an easy one. Despite that, as many as 22 of them, 3 Poles included, got a clear one. Mark Edwards with Royale Tale clocked first, the one that came second earlier today.

It’s a superb start of the show. The aim of the day was to try to win that class with Royale Tale and she got well in there. The course was a 150 ranking class, so it was big from the word ‘go’, and there were a couple of big verticals, so to finish it was a tough challenge. – admitted the winner joyously.

Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli of Sweden came second and she couldn’t help praising her 11-year-old Dyrka du Carry mare’s performance. I am very happy and very proud of my horse. She did very well, even though she hadn’t done many 150s. I have had her for a little bit more than one year. She’s a very fast horse, most of the times when she goes into the show, she brings at least one ribbon home. – admitted the Swede with a grin.

Another British representative completed the course third – Oliver Fletcher with BP Pocahontas. I feel great. The horse jumps really well. Delighted to start the show like that. It was a lovely course, good for the young horses. And if you also wanted to move quickly, it was a nice one too, good distances. – said the Brit.
