Dutch victory opens up Warsaw Jumping day 3
Another competitive day at Warsaw Jumping 2024 commenced with a young horse rivalry. Hessel Hoekstra of the Netherlands with Stargos VDL came out undefeated in the CSIYH for the prize of M&A Michnik, under the patronage of Świat Koni.
The impressive 36 pairs checked in for the morning 7 and 8-year-old horse contest, bravely facing the course of 12 fences and 15 jumps. Twelve duos took a clear one through Gregory Bodo’s design and secured their jump-off participation, in which it was not just accuracy that mattered, but time as well. The young Dutch clocked it best, by a tiny 0,21 sec. advantage over the runner-up.
I am feeling good and happy. The course was nice and difficult enough. It was big enough as well. A good group of fair people went clear, so we had a nice jump-off as well. – concluded the 24-year-old. Stargos is really great, he wins a lot of classes. This week he is really good – twice in the top here. And today we really wanted to win. And we did.
Zascha Nygaard Lill of Denmark, who also triumphed at CSIO4* on day one, secured herself the second position this time. This morning saw her take the jumps with Chaquicka PS mare.
I am very happy as we had clear rounds and the jump-off. I like the arena here. More people watching today, which feels great for us. – said the Danish.
Number three was taken by the Czech Natalie Kovarove on Lady Concern du Rezidal.
I am really happy to see my mare in good shape. She jumped four clear rounds and also the jump-off. She was really fast. The course was fine for me and the mare, because I had already jumped in the 145 class. – summed up Natalie.
