Warsaw Jumping 2024 Day Two: emotions and fierce rivalry at the Służewiec Racecourse
Warsaw Jumping CSIO4* is surelly spinning into its full vibe. Day two at Służewiec got swept up with loads of rightful sporting emotions and a healthy dose of fierce, genuine rivalry. The competitors faced each other at the young horse contest, the CSIO4* and the Lotto Grand Prix.
The day opened up with the young horses, which was just another opportunity for the British Mark Edwards to show off again a bit with his delightful performance. Edwards turned out to be the one to seize the top of the CSIYH against the clock for the prize of TRAF, under the patronage of Warszawsko-Mazowiecki Związek Jeździecki.
We seem to have been doing well so far. It’s been our second victory this year here. The course went right for us, as we kept the flow, so I am really pleased. – summed up the winner.
Greek Angelos Touloupis unbeaten at CSIO4*
The afternoon menu brought the CSIO4* 140 cm against-the-clock competition for the prize of Marszałek Województa Mazowieckiego, under the patronage of EQUI TV, upon the table. The spectators cheered a long list of Polish and international riders. Touloupolis secured his victory through a dynamic, clear round on the 8-year-old Kannandillo stallion. It feels amazing. My horse did an amazing job. Early on the list, we had to ride really fast and put up the bar for the rivals. I think we did the turns really fast and really well. – confessed the Greek.
LOTTO Grand Prix spurring enormous emotions
The day culminated throught the long awaited Lotto Grand Prix CSIO4* – for the prize of Lotto, under the patronage of Ministerstwo Sportu i Turystyki. Those successful enough at the Thursday’s qualifier entered the contest – a Longines ranking point catcher. The parkour proved itself demanding, with the bars reaching 150 cm. Lars Bak Andersen with Golden Eye performed class and right to the top. A fantastic win. It’s only been my horse’s second international show, so it feels amazing to be winning at the four-star Grand Prix already. – admitted the elated winner. The course was tough enough, very well built. And we had a very interesting jump-off indeed. – he added.
