Strong line-up for the CSIO4* Warsaw Jumping equestrian festival
A total of 115 riders from 16 countries will turn up at the starting line of the international CSIO4* Warsaw Jumping competition, which will be held September 14-17 at the capital’s Służewiec Racecourse. The starting list for the jumping competitions includes the names of well-known riders from all over Europe, who will compete in Sunday’s Longines EEF Series Final, the final of the European Nations Cup.
Riders ranked high in the International Equestrian Federation classification will come to the Polish capital to fight for world ranking points. One of them is Max Kühner – the Austrian champion and this year’s team bronze medalist at the European Championships, ranked eleventh in the standings. The Austrians will have a very strong lineup in Warsaw, practically the same in which they took the bronze of the continental championship. The team champion of Europe from 2021, Bryan Balsiger, representing the Swiss national team, and his teammate Dominik Fuhrer, who won the national championship the same year, will also be there. The Belgians can also count for a good start. Amongst others, their nominees for Służewiec include Wilm Vermeir and Gilles Thomas, who have extensive experience in international starts, including the prestigious Global Champions League.
These experienced riders will focus their attention on Sunday’s finals of the Longines EEF Series. The fight for victory in the European Nations Cup will feature 10 teams, including the Poles, who excelled during the qualifying events. One of the strong points of the Polish red-and-white team will be the presence of Jarosław Skrzyczyński, a three-time medalist at the Polish senior championships, a participant in the World Cup finals and European championships, as well as many competitions included in the world ranking. Among the five selected by trainer Jan Vinckier, there had to be a place for the newly crowned Polish champion Tomasz Miśkiewicz, who is currently the leader of the Polish Equestrian Federation ranking. Along with them, the arena will host Dawid Kubiak, the country’s vice-champion, who jumped very well in all the preliminary competitions, contributing to our team’s fourth place in the semifinals in Deauville. The coach of our team also decided to count in Michał Tyszko, who performed great jumps in his debut in the Nations Cup this year, as well as young Adam Grzegorzewski. This talented athlete represented the red and white colors at the European Championships in Milan and also contributed to Poland’s promotion to the Olympic Games in Paris.
The Longines EEF Series Final will begin on Sunday, September 17, at 11:00 a.m., but there will also be plenty of sporting excitement in the days preceding it. Once more CSIO4* Warsaw Jumping caters to equestrian enthusiasts by combining not two, but three competitions – show jumping, horse racing and para-dressage. The latter will be a chance for riders to earn qualifying points for next year’s Games. In addition to that, direct access to the Służewiec racecourse will allow show jumping athletes to check out their skills on racehorses. There will also be plenty of attractions for fans, who, in addition to admiring the high-level sports rivalry first-hand, will have the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of exhibitors, a food and beverage zone, as well as watch the hobby horse competitions.
