Show jumpers as… horse racers. The Saturday show race – a must to watch!
Saturday, September 7th shall see the traditional show race, in which some of WJ 2024 showjumpers will mount genuine racehorses. Which duo will cross the finishing post first?
The exceptionality of the event seems naturally highlighted by the unique location of its venue – the greatest racecourse in Poland. As spacious as 138 hectares, the Służewiec Racecourse complex can definitely be counted as one of Warsaw’s monuments. What spurs local admiration, apart from the bravely competitive racehorses, is the extraordinary architectural quality, just to bring up the two partially-glazed spectator stands. Służewiec also dips visitors into its green parks. One can find hundreds of horses based here, involved in regular training, just to pop out on a race day into a green track competition.
Warsaw Jumping visitors cherish the opportunity to take part in this extraordinary event. Saturday and Sunday will witness the total of 20 races, including Women Power Series (just for ladies) or the Apprentice Race (for the jockeys that have not seized 25 victories yet).
To emphasise the relationship between show-jumping and horse-racing, there comes a show race every Warsaw Jumping edition. Those spending their days doing obstacle courses, try their luck at racing.
In the stakes we will see riders such as Angelos Touloupis, representative of Greece, winner of Friday’s CSIO4*, and Mel Thijssen, who finished third in Friday’s LOTTO Grand Prix . – It’s too fun not to try. – she says. The other jumpers who will compete in the horse race are:
Megan Laseur
Claudia Michel
Tomasz Jasiński
Caroline Rehoff Pedersen
David Horvath
and Bronislav Chudyba.
Don’t miss out on the show!
